This geovisualization tool allows you to explore changes in population in US states between 1790 and 2010 in an interactive manner. The data used in this tool was obtained from the US Census Bureau. Using different data display tabs, you can explore data using bar, line and bubble graphs.

You may select specific states by checking the boxes on the right hand side of the tool. To change the opacity of unselected states, click . To play through the animation, click . You may also use the zoom feature to focus on an area within a given graph. To zoom in:

Place your mouse in the display area of the tool > Hold down the left mouse button and draw a rectangle over the items you wish to zoom in to > Release the left mouse button > In the menu that pops up, select 'Zoom in' and press 'Enter'.
